Founder’s Story

Premier Golf Events (PGE) was born from family, service, and a moment that changed everything.

In 2018, Ray’s brother‑in‑law, Sgt. Ed Bollman, a conservation officer in Indiana, lost his life during an ice‑water rescue attempt. Ed was the kind of man who ran toward danger when others ran away, a quiet hero who lived his life in service to others.

Needing to raise funds to send the immediate family to Washington, D.C. for Ed’s induction into the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, Ray organized a memorial golf outing with only weeks to prepare. 21 teams. Over $10,000 raised. A community united.

What began as a fundraiser quickly became something more – a source of healing, connection, and the start of something much bigger. Later that year, Ray’s sister expressed a desire to honor Ed’s legacy through scholarships. Ray committed to continuing the outing, not just as an annual event, but as an ongoing mission.

Eight years later, the outing raises over $23,000 annually and supports an endowed scholarship fund through the Madison County Community Foundation.

This experience ignited Ray’s passion for golf, charity, and community and inspired the creation of Premier Golf Events.

Premier Golf Events is more than a business — it’s a legacy of service, community, and purpose.
